Words for your walls also know as wall words.

So, I have been aspiring to join the many who are currently decorating their homes in these super cute little sayings and captions with vinyl letters and characters that stick onto your walls. As we have established I am not artsy, (although, thanks for the vote Casey) but I thought if I can just tell someone, and by someone I mean ML, what I want, and then get that someone to print what I want for me, and then bribe hubz into placing them on the wall for me, it's virtually fool proof right? And boy was I right!

We will start with the master bedroom. This room has been the catch-all, eye sore, cave-like, close the door when you have people over room since we have lived here. I was so over it and hubz promised for my birthday and Christmas...and Valentines Day, President's Day, Groundhog Day, etc. that he would be a willing participant in a master bedroom makeover for me. So, over Christmas vacation we, scratch that, he painted the moldings, the walls, two walls in the bathroom, and, AND laid new flooring too! It is a gorgeous blue that hubz picked out and I just love it! It brings a smile to my face every day!
We have big plans for the walls in there, including but not limited to a monogram over our dresser and a big black and white pic of Whales Head Beach where we were engaged, but for now I was concentrating on the area above our closet doors. So after searching high and low I finally decided on what I wanted to put up there and then enlisted the help of ML and her cricut. And here is the finished project...

I am in love people! With hubz and my new words for my walls.

Stay tuned for the next installment of words for your walls--two more rooms to come.

Artsy....or not.

Okay, for those of you that know me, you know that arts and crafts projects are so not my thing. I aspire to be artsy or craftsy and we might as well thrown in picture takery, but who are we kidding, I am SO none of the above. I guess my adding y to the end of all of the aforementioned words is my attempt to somehow take the sting out of my nonartistic reality.

Well, today I am presenting you with my latest botched attempt at a craft project. Please, try and contain your excitement...

This is actually the second frame I made in my feeble attempt at creativity. The first one I do not have a picture of because my pal ML is putting it in a some dark, recessed corner of her house out of sheer pity on me, I'm sure.

I see these things on blogs and on websites that I think are so stinkin' cute and therein begins the cycle. I then think..."I need that for my house", and then that thought is followed with..."I can so do that"..."I'm going to make that." So ridiculous. Seriously, put down the brush and step away from the Mod Podge.

For those of you waiting on the edge of your seats for your Favorite Friday installment …

wait no longer because here it is!

Our favorite for this Friday (please feel free to overlook the fact that this is Saturday instead of Friday), is in regard to a little celebration in our house this week. On January 22, 2008 we celebrated exactly one year to the day that P "asked her Heavenly Father into her heart." We met with the children's pastor at our church on Wednesday night in regard to P getting baptized, so stay tuned for more info on that. What a thrill it is for us to see her still so excited about the choice that she made a year ago and continuing to walk this journey with her as she is choosing to take the next step of obedience.

So, on Thursday night we had a little "birthday" party. We had cupcakes and a candle and sang Happy "Jesus" Birthday to you. We've got the copyright on those cutting edge lyrics, just for the record.

We love this little girl like nobody's business and can't wait to see the Father do great things in and through her life. We love you little Peyt and are so very proud of you!

LifePoint Church

Our church took a big step today towards the launch of our second campus. The influence of our church has grown exponentially in the last 5-10 years. To continue reaching people beyond the city of Smyrna, it has become necessary to change our identity to one that will allow consistency in all aspects (and locations) of the ministry. I am thankful for the leadership, patience, and strategic planning that the staff has shown throughout this process. I love my church.

The following video was used this morning to reveal the new identity to the church. [props to Sully on his crazy-cool AfterEffects skills]

Did I mention that I knew this would happen?

Okay, I am a loser, I know. So much for the Favorite Friday update every Friday. What I meant to say was that it would updated every other Friday-ish. So, please, bear with me.

Anyway, I know that it isn't Friday, but since I have flaked on this riveting addition to our blog for the past Friday or so, I thought I would bring you a bonus installment. So, the favorite of the week this week is brought to you by me.

Hands down my favorite item on planet earth as of right now is this little treasure...

Now, if you have read previous posts about a certain someone in our home, you would know that to say the least we have our hands full. Through a series of events and much weeping and nashing of teeth, Mas now has no crib in his room, and we now have these little door handle jobers on several of our doors including but not limited to his bedroom, P's room, the pantry, etc. He forced our hand on the pantry door when he was busted on Sunday morning at 5 a.m. sitting in the kitchen floor eating Quik with a fork. Seriously.

And let me say, I was not prepared for this. I mean, he is barely 2 years old and unless a miracle of God were to happen, he's the last baby we'll have in our home, so I was hoping to keep him a "baby" a little longer. Well, he is having none of that.

So, for his safety and my sanity we are pulling out all of the baby proofing stops. It's on!
